Greyson's Birthday

Hello! My brother's birthday is TOMORROW !!! He doesn't read this, so I can tell you what I got him: A Buzz Lightyear toy! He has one, but I got him a new one because his old one: Is old and has a few scratches on its face, It's navy and silver, not white, green, blue, and red like the one from the movie , and It DOESN'T HAVE WINGS . Last year, I handmade a teddy bear for him, but he never really played with it. I bought this for him as soon as I saw it at Target in December, so it's been hiding in the attic for about 4-5 months. I am so excited, and can't wait till tomorrow night!! Well, I guess that's all! Bye for now! ~Sophie Gabrielle

Homesickness

Have you ever been homesick? I know I have! During my first sleepover (at someone else's house), my friend fell asleep before I did. So, I just watched Disney Channel on her TV in her bedroom. When I got tired and decided to go to bed, I realized I had left my overnight bag out in the hall. When I went to go get it, the refrigerator started to growl at me. I grabbed the overnight bag and made a run for my friend's bedroom. I was so homesick the rest of the night! But when I finally fell asleep, I  was fine. Oh, I wrote a new poem!! It is called, "Trip to the Clouds". Here it is: I wish that I could fly So high up in the sky, That I could eat the clouds As the planes were passing by. I could share it with the birds As they're passing by in herds, And I'd bring clouds back down to Earth To eat with whey and curds. But maybe it would be a waste, If the clouds should have no taste! And what if, by the hawks, Round and round I should be chased? So I will not mak

Friends

I am going to tell you how I make friends for a school assignment. If I'm in a new classroom, I typically just wait for an opportunity to join in a conversation with an opinion. Sometimes they agree, sometimes they don't. (For the record, I'm not a huge fan of Twilight). For example: Pam: Jacob is way better than Edward! Jill: What do YOU know? YOU haven't even seen "Twilight: Eclipse" yet! Pam: *Gasp*! You SWORE you wouldn't tell! And anyway, I didn't have to. I could tell that Edward was perfect for Bella just by watching New Moon. Sophie: I agree with Pam. Jacob is better. I've seen him in more movies than I have Edward. See? I actually met my friend, Angelica, that way. In fact, this was the topic! She was talking with a friend, I gave her my input, and she agreed! For those of you having a bad day, here's a picture: Go to  http://www.dailycute.net  for more day brighteners! ~Sophie Gabrielle

Kids Give Me Hope

Have any of you heard of  "My Life Is Average"? Well, there is an adorable website similar to it called "Kids Give Me Hope". It is basically where people go and talk about all the cute stuff kids in their lives have done. http://kidsgivemehope.blogher.com You should check it out. It's one of the sweetest websites I've ever seen. I don't have much else to say, except that I recently lost a tooth and got a $5.00 Target gift card, which was pretty awesome. ~Sophie Gabrielle

Triathlon

I'm extremely excited!!! My brother and I did a triathlon this past weekend!!! Though I was REALLY nervous, I made it! When we first got to the triathlon (which WAS all kids, but still challenging), we had to go get our tags, ankle bracelets, and T-shirts. We also had to go get our numbers written on our right shins and arms. My tag was pinned on the back of my shorts, my brother's on his shirt. The ankle bracelets were water proof, and used to track our time from the start of the race to the finish. Greyson had to swim only 55 yards, but I had to swim 165 yards. Poor Greyson was part of a group that was doing the biking part of the race when someone messed up the course and he ended up having to be set aside from the regular group. But ( in this group, in his age group) he still got 3rd!!!!! YAY!!!!  He only ended up biking ( I think) 1 mile. BUT it wasn't his fault. His age group was supposed to swim 55 yds., bike 3.7 miles, and run 1 mile. My group swam 165 yds., but

TITAN!!!

Image
This is Titan! Isn't he adorable? He's  technically  Greyson's dog, but he loves all of us. About 2 or 3 weeks ago, this little guy decided I needed a new pair of goggles. Apparently, the ones I had weren't worth anything, because he ripped them to shreds like they were garbage! And it wasn't like I just gave him the goggles. He actually went rummaging through my swimming bag and pulled them out! I guess red isn't his favorite color, either, because he almost went for the swim cap, too! But we caught him before he could damage anything else. Here's my theory: he's just being "that kid". Maybe he thinks that bad attention is better than no attention at all, and he knows he can get away with it without getting in trouble because of how sweet he looks when he gives us the sad eyes. Typical. :o) By the way, I just finished writing a poem!!! It's about 2 people sitting in a room: the first guy's a jerk, and the second one's sick

Crickets!!

In China, for 2000 years, crickets have been most popular for two things: their song, and cricket fighting. From 500 B.C. to 618 A.D., people only appreciated the crickets song. During the Tang dynasty, people kept the crickets in cages to listen to their tune under captivity.   Crickets were also used for gambling. And some actually kept dozens of little pots, each of which held one small cricket. Then, during the Song dynasty, cricket fighting became a very popular sport. The typical diet of a cricket being prepared to fight is cooked rice, flies, and mosquitoes. After several weeks of this, the cricket is ready to fight. Cricket fighting is like dogfighting and bullfighting. Some who believe that it is cruel may find it wrong to force an animal to fight another of its kind. Others (especially those who participate in putting the animals against each other) may find it fun to watch these fights. ~Sophia Gabrielle (:-#
