Mick Jagger?

Yesterday I heard one of the judges on American Idol say "McJagger". It sounded more like Mick Jagger than McJagger.  I asked my mom, and she said it was NOT spelled M-C-J-A-G-G-E-R. For years I have been thinking that was how it was spelled. Wow. ~Sophie Gabrielle

Orpheus

Orpheus (OR-fee-us) was one of the greatest musicians in Ancient Greek myths. Sometimes he played on his lyre songs about the Olympian Gods and the Titans, other times he sang of the mystical creation of the universe. Orpheus even had songs about people who changed into birds and flowers. Every time he sang, everything around him was filled with magic. His songs could charm anything, from humans and animals to rocks and rivers. It is said that once, when Orpheus was playing his music in the forest, the trees pulled themselves from the ground, followed him down the mountainside, and planted themselves on the seashore, when Orpheus ended his song. Apollo ( "God" of music) taught him to play the lyre (also called a harp) and became so skilled that Jason and the Argonauts took him along in the quest for the Golden Fleece. Orpheus saved them from the Sirens' ( half bird, half woman) alluring songs by drowning out their music with his own. After returning to Greece, Orphe

Unlikely Pals

Once upon a time, there lived a zebra named Zayla. She was at the cash register after grocery shopping one day when she realized that she had forgotten the peppers for her salsa. She turned to ask a store associate for help, but the man was a ferocious mountain lion! But instead of eating her, he asked, " What can I do for you, ma'am?". Zayla was stunned. After he helped her, she asked,"What's your name?" The lion answered,"Leo. Pleased to make your acquaintance, ma'am." And 2 years later, they were married. They adopted a wolf named William, who is now grown. When Willie turned 18 in wolf years, he went out not to a bar, but to the mall. At a surf shop, Willie met a sheep cashier named Shannon. Willie wanted to buy a certain shirt, but they didn't have his size. Shannon found it in the back of the store. And that was the beginning of their relationship. They dated for 7 years before they got married. They adopted a fox named Freddy, a

School Assignment l:-l

So, I'm supposed to use this blog for homework now. I have to write my answers to these questions for "A Cricket In Times Square": Would you like a cricket for a pet? Why? Have you fed an animal out of your hand before? Describe the experience. Describe a trip to a new place that you have taken.  Well, NO, I would NOT like a cricket for a pet!! I really don't think they were meant to be pets. Why else would they have been put out in the wild in the first place? I have fed an animal out of my hand. I think it was either a donkey or a goat, but I did it while in Nebraska. Their tongues felt all slimy! I have also fed my dog out of my hand, but he got  too excited and almost bit my hand!! When I went to Chicago, the only thing I was really interested in seeing was the American Girl store. :-)   We saw a LOT of traffic and taxis ( and actually RODE in one!). The hotel my mom and I stayed in was right across the street from the American Girl store. I loved everythi

Is this weird? (:oI

So, is it weird to post to 2 blogs in one day? Because I forgot to say something in the post I just finished, and I actually had wanted to say this in my first post but I forgot... so, could you let me know if this is weird? I've never followed a blog, so I don't know if it is...but anyway, let me tell you what I wanted to tell you...My mom makes a GREAT pumpkin muffin!!! So I know that you may be thinking that pumpkin could NEVER be good in dessert. So explain pumpkin pie! My dad must have already eaten like 20 of them, but I don't blame him. They're heaven. Speak of the devil ( that's an expression) at least ONE of the Starbucks coffee shops I've been to has these new "cake pops", and they're to DIE for!!!!! Okay, well that's all I forgot to say. Don't forget to comment to tell me if this is weird because I really need to know so I don't screw it up in the future. Thanks in advance!!! ~Sophie Gabrielle   ):oP
