Jensenville
This is my town history that I wrote for school:
The town of Jensenville was a little old town that was founded in 1711. The lord of the town was named Sir Smitty Werben Jager Man Jensen III. He was quite a self-centered lord, and always took larger amounts of money from the townspeople then he should have.
The town started when a peddler named Jill Smithson stopped to sell her handmade jewelry on Sir Smitty's land . Before long, a farmer with his extra produce stopped too. The two made a trade: a pound of produce for 3 bracelets. After a couple more people stopped to trade back and forth, Jensenville was born.
Word of the town got around fast, and before long, there were over 400 people living there. It was decided that since this town was now official, a strong stone wall must be built around it. The townspeople were happy with this new wall, and once other traders knew that this town was now protected, the population grew to 1,200 people almost immediately.
After news of the wall was spread and over 600 more traders had built homes in Jensenville, the town was bursting with people! The wall was torn down, and many buildings had to have extra stories built onto them. This also overjoyed the lord, for the more people there were in his town, the more money that came to him.
BUT, the citizens of Jensenville decided that since the town had grown so large, it needed to have a charter. So they protested and kept on nagging the lord until he finally gave in.The entire town was at the ceremony, including Jill Smithson, the first peddler to settle in Jensenville. The town became a chartered town on September 13, 1714.
I may have to rewrite or at least make a few changes if Mom says this is too long or too short.
